The University of Nebraska Lincoln's chapter, Husker Racing, has been in existence for over 20 years and is one of the most decorated and acclaimed teams in the Midwest region. Our team attends at least one of the three U.S. competitions hosted. Husker Racing's success is built on the passion and dedication of the members throughout the yearlong, intensive design and build seasons.

Husker Racing provides a hands-on experience that students cannot gain inside of a lecture hall; this experience serves to help develop students with well-rounded professional skills in various aspects of the engineering industry. Equally important, students actively build non-technical skills vital to professional engineering: program/timeline management, budgeting, interpersonal communication, and conflict resolution.

At the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL), Husker Racing accepts all students interested, regardless of major, year, or background.

About Baja SAE

Baja SAE Logo

The International Collegiate design series has a division known as Baja SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers). Baja SAE consists of competitions that simulate real-world engineering design projects and the related challenges. In Baja SAE, students are tasked with designing and building an all-terrain sporting vehicle. Each team's goal is to design and build a prototype of an all-weather, rugged, single-seat, off-road recreational vehicle. Which is intended for sale to the nonprofessional weekend off-road enthusiast. As a team students design, the limits of the rules. Like real work situations, our future engineers work together as a team to discover and resolve technical challenges in design, testing, and manufacturing, as well as business issues. The most rugged of all the SAE competition having both static and dynamic events. Baja SAE gives students the first-hand challenge of pursuing their passion while managing real-life demands and priorities.
